Why Asian markets are neglected?

This post addresses the big concern about the startups which are basically targeting either United states and more or less limited to EU.

The fact is all the potential users are from that region, potential in terms of Per Capita Spending on Internet Purchases.

But around 40% of Internet users are from Asia or more specifically from India and China.

So most of the times, the Small business in Asian Regions are not getting support to experiment and explore the possibilities which others are getting. By this I am not raising any questions regarding the credibility of those startups.!

So in that case , what we have to do? Do we need to replicate or mold the same concepts , products for local users. By local I meant the Asian region, which is highly neglected by most of the startups. I think the consumption style highly varies in Asia and America region. Consumption in terms of the advertising, purchases etc.

By my opinion, we need to regenerate the same services with the localized touch. As we are aware about the Asian market and their trends we can put up the modified revenue models or product monetization. We have to put up the similar services which can be accessible to local investors and consumers. But this is not the open and shut case, there can be big debate on replicating services.

Recent example is the startup 'Tweetup'..![Twitter Advertising Startup by Idea Labs] Which is currently launched only in United States. So if you are waiting for some startup to be available in your region better start building our own Localized solutions.

This is the time for Asian Giants to look in to the Product Development process rather than working on just client requirements. Indian Internet market is now booming with big consumption of Social media , but smart moves by companies like Google and Facebook to start operating in India is not good enough.

I am looking forward to have some localized solutions for Indian market. I would love to know what you think on this!

Regards,
Arpan
